WHO’S
HARRY – FORD RISING STARS BEATEN BY
ROOKIE
Release Date: 21/07/2007
When the cream of
Australian V8 Supercar youngsters
get upstaged by a rookie in an karting
challenge in the lead up to the Queensland
round of the Fujitsu Championships,
the question is, “Who is Harry”.
Ford Rising Stars
Racing Team visited what is regarded
as Australia’s number one hire
kart track, “The Big Kart Track”
north of Brisbane in the lead up to
the Queensland round of the V8 Supercars.
This track is an exact replica of
the Jesselo track in Italy regarded
by drivers as one of the world’s
best.
FRSR drivers Michael
Caruso and Daniel Elliott have had
karting victories in the North American
Karting Championships and a host of
Australian Championships so you would
expect the action to be hot.
“The boys thought
that this would be an ideal way to
get their reflexes tuned prior to
the event”, FRSR Commercial
Manager, Kim White said today. “With
some prestige on the line most of
the team thought that the battle would
be between Daniel and Michael with
the rest struggling to keep up with
two of our best credentialed karters”,
he said.
However honours on
the day did not go with the driver
currently running second in the hot
Fujitsu V8 Supercar Championship,
Michael Caruso or the former Australian
Formula Ford Champion, but to Harry
Totman!
Harry Who???
Harry is the team’s
thirteen year old goafer with no glorious
karting background and one thing for
sure is that the team drivers will
not be allowed to forget who was fastest
on the day.
Perhaps the next
generation of drivers is already in
the Ford Rising Stars Racing Team.
