FRSR LOOK FORWARD TO HOME TRACK EVENT AT ORAN PARK
Release Date: 13/08/2007

Ford Rising Stars Racing Team drivers Grant Denyer and Michael Caruso are looking forward to the next round of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Championship at their home track, Sydney’s Oran Park.

“Last year we qualified on pole and both our cars have been improved on since then so we are looking forward to running on what has been our test track this year”, Team Owner, Jim Morton said. “Grant and Michael have done some impressive test day times there this year and we are looking to build on our Championship second position after success at the last round in Queensland”.

This year the Ford Rising Stars Racing Team has won two of the four rounds of the championship and has yet to race in their home state of NSW. “Sydney is home for our team with the workshop located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches at Mona Vale”, Commercial Manager Kim White said today. “With three V8 Supercar events in NSW this year, FRSR would like to show that success is this sport is not restricted to Queensland and Victorian Teams”.

“At the last event in Queensland our Michael Caruso won the round and his times in the last race would have made us sixth fastest in the main series race”, Kim White said. “We want to show that we are capable of being a main series front runner as our aim is to eventually move into the main championship”, he said.

Ford Rising Stars Racing will be hosting over 250 corporate guests for the event and the team is hoping for better success for Grant Denyer who had the worst of luck at Queensland. “Grant was on for a top six grid position in Queensland but kept getting held up in the traffic”, Jim Morton said. “Then in the racing everything that could go wrong did with the final straw being three cars coming together and completely blocking the track in front of him. Sometimes it goes like this but Grant also showed good speed there and we are looking for a result for him at Oran Park”, he said.

FRSR will also be debuting their merchandise trailer at Oran Park with team dress shirts, jackets and caps along with mouse pads and stubby holders for sale. “The demand for our posters has been unbelievable at the events and we have been swamped with requests for clothing and merchandise”, Kim White said. “Finally we will have it available for all those Caruso and Denyer fans that have been asking at the race meetings”.

The V8 Supercar round at Oran Park is on the 17th/18th and 19th of August.
