FORD RISING STARS FINISH YEAR ONE ON A GOOD NOTE
14/12/2007
Ford Rising Stars Racing Team has finished its first year with a close second place in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Championships.
“We are very proud of our driver Michael Caruso’s result’s with more round wins and more race wins than any other team or driver in the Championships”, Team Owner Jim Morton said. “Our team finished only five points behind after seven rounds and eighteen hard races with Grant Denyer and Daniel Elliott lending great support”.
“Michael Caruso started racing karts with us when he was only thirteen and we have shared major race wins both in Australia and overseas so it was a good result for him and the team”, Jim Morton said. “Michael has also been a fine ambassador for us off the track and we are happy to have been able to give him an opportunity at the highest level when two years ago few people were knocking at his door”, he said.
Ford Rising Stars Racing paid tribute to Ford for their involvement in the Rising Stars concept this year. The team has had a long history of identifying and mentoring young drivers.
“This year we hosted over 1000 corporate guests through our facilities at the events and showed that Fujitsu Teams can operate at a very high standard”, FRSR Commercial Manager Kim White said. “For us this gave the team an opportunity to expose our young drivers to the commercial considerations of the sport and having Grant Denyer as part of the squad helped tremendously with their media grooming”, he said.
“We would like to thank Hagemeyer, Summit Fleet Leasing, Geist, Just Cuts, Selmor Displays, Decina Bathroomware, Colourscan Printing, Orica and Scotts Panel and Paint at Mona Vale for their support. And a big thankyou to all our corporate guests who have befriended us through the year…………….we look forward to sharing some great times again with you in 2008. To you and yours we wish you a safe and enjoyable Christmas and a healthy prosperous and rewarding 2008 from the whole team”.
