AUSDRILL FORD RISING STARS RACING TEAM ROOKIE WINS FIRST ROUND OF THE AUSTRALIAN FORMULA FORD CHAMPIONSHIPS
09/03/2008

Ausdrill Ford Rising Stars Racing Team [FRSR], V8 Supercar Rookie driver, Brad Lowe won two of the three races last weekend at Eastern Creek and the first round of the 08 Australian Formula Ford Championship.

Brad was driving for new Formula Ford Team, Synergy Motorsport who is the FRSR associated team in this year’s Formula Ford Championship.

“Winning the round was always the objective and after winning the first two races Brad could stay out of trouble and finish third in the final race and still win the round”, Jim Morton, FRSR team owner said today. “Brad’s longer term ambition is to move into V8’s and we have been including him in out test days to give him some miles in our V8 Supercars”, he said

Synergy Motorsport is owned by Justin Cotter and Peter Bryant who have quite a history with FRSR team owner Jim Morton. “Justin worked for me years ago during his karting days and Peter has been a designer for FRSR for the last four years”, he said. “It seemed natural to establish a relationship with them in Formula Ford as we share similar enthusiasm for developing new talent”, he said.

Ford Rising Stars Racing hopes to play a role in Brad’s on and off track development in 2008 and this ties in well with the teams ambitions to develop Fords future V8 Supercar driving talent.

The races featured a number of drivers who had driven for Jim Morton in the teams karting days “Paul Laskezeski, Ben Morley and Adam Graham were all drivers for us back in karting. Paul and Adam as Juniors and Ben as our first Cadet Class driver back in the early nineties. Its great to see them moving through to the front end of the Australian Formula ford Championship”, Jim Morton said.
