AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX MEETING – AUSDRILL FORD RISING STARS RACING MOVES TO THE MAIN SERIES

Finally after fifteen years as the top karting team in the country, two years winning the National Historic Touring car Series and four years in the V8 Supercar Championship for a fourth and two seconds we have made it all the way to the top end of Australian Motorsport.

Today, Thursday, there were two on track sessions. Practice, twenty minutes and Qualifying, thirty minutes. In Michael’s very first practice session in a V8 Supercar he performed faultlessly to finish twenty first out of twenty eight starters. In front of seven V8 Supercar regulars.

For qualifying we were only 26th after half session with one full set of green tyres to use. At the AGP circuit the new tyres are only good for two hot laps after which the tyres get slower …………….so the two laps have to be perfect.

Michael was getting faster and faster but a small mistake on lap two cost us dearly and we ended up 27th fastest.

On the good side the car is perfect and we expect to make good progress over the three races.
