16/03/2008
After a DNF in race two with a tyre issue Ausdrill Ford Rising Stars, Michael Patrizi drove a composed race to come from last on the grid to twentieth.
“The last four laps I had a great dice with Stone Brothers, Shane Van Gisbergen”, Michael Patrizi said. “I passed him on the last lap but he got by again before the flag and we had a lot of fun”, he said.
Team Owner, Jim Morton said, “We were again really happy with Michael’s performance. He could not see the start lights so missed the start and to drive back though the field with such surety and come home with a straight clean car reflects well on our potential. Michael’s time were very competitive and this weekend has been a great opportunity for the team to gel and Michael to get invaluable miles’, he said.
Ausdrill Ford rising Stars Racing had great support this weekend with two young Western Australian apprentices from Ausdrill helping out. Also present was team rookie, Brad Lowe who won the first round of the Formula Ford Championships at Eastern Creek last weekend.
“We will go to our first championship event in New Zealand next month confident of being competitive in the top half of the field and tracking well towards our longer terms aims to be in the top half”, Jim Morton said.
“We have a great young team assembled and like all successful teams are really having fun at the races”, Jim Morton said.
