FRSR IN THE WILD WEST – FRSR 18th IN RACE ONE
10/05/2008
Hot and sunny turned into wet and wild for qualifying. A massive and spectacular cold front moved across the track before qualifying but fortunately it dried out for a cool but dry session.
FRSR driver, Michael Patrizi qualified twenty seventh after running in the top ten early in the session. With the second set of greens and on his last hot lap Michael was badly baulked by a driver coming back on the track after an off.
So……………………..a pretty disappointing result after our practice pace.
The race was much better though with Michael moving through to an eventual nineteenth place. “The car was great early on but the tyres went away later in the race. I know this happens and I know I have to learn to deal with it”, he said.
The race was uneventful for the team with no incidents.
“This is another good step in the right direction for the team with another top twenty placing. Michael’s speed was good again and he recorded the sixteen fastest time………………………..or ……….as our Team Manager, David Paterson says, eighth fastest Ford”, Kim White Ford Rising Stars Racing’s Commercial Manager said. “At the moment our qualifying positions have not really been reflecting our real pace so things are looking promising for the team”.
With two more fifty lap races tomorrow Michael and the team can look forward to the benefit of the first race experience. With only seven V8 Supercar races in total under his belt, Michael is quickly getting up to pace.
