DAY ONE REPORT, DARWIN
05/07/2008
Friday ended with a fairly happy driver and crew after Michael recorded a sixteenth fastest at mid session in the 75min practice session today.
“At the end of practice Michael was twenty seventh but only did two laps at the end of session greens with some time in hand’, Jim Morton, Team Manager said. “We feel we had genuine mid field pace which confirms our test day progress”.
Darwin has turned on fantastic weather for the racing and the Hidden Valley complex would make many of the southern track operators green with envy.
“Yesterday the team transporters did a convoy from the track through the centre of Darwin with a police escort”, Commercial Manager Kim white said. “The sight of around twenty five thousand locals lining the roads to and through Darwin makes you realise that this is the premier sporting event in the Northern Territory”.
